The article cites studies which have shown that quality teachers help their students beyond academics, including lower teenage pregnancy rates, as well as greater college matriculation and adult earnings. Caveat: Good teachers do NOT teach to a test. Rather, they teach children to become lifelong learners and the NATURAL CONSEQUENCE will be good test scores.
